Privacy notice
Last updated 31 October 2026. Applies to the Open Content Label (OCL) rating service at rate.shinifrontiers.com. The ShiniFrontiers publication at shinifrontiers.com has its own privacy policy.
In short: we rate websites, not people. We do not need an account, we use no cookies and no analytics, and we keep nothing about you except what a paid order requires.
Who we are

What we collect and why
- Free label check and quick scan: the website address you enter, used only to fetch and check that site. We do not store it. For the quick scan we keep only a count of scans per day (to cap use), with no address and nothing about you.
- Paid website check (an order): the website address, the product, price and currency, the Razorpay order and payment IDs, the order's status and times, the report and label we produce, and a one-way fingerprint (hash) of your report key. We need these to run the check, deliver the report, handle refunds and keep accounts.
- Payment: Razorpay collects your payment details (such as card or UPI, email and phone) under its own privacy policy. We never see card details. Razorpay's payment notice to us may include your email and phone; we use only the payment ID, amount, currency and status, and do not store the rest.
- The website you ask us to check: we read its public pages (text, which third-party services it loads, and a screenshot of the start page), process them in memory, and keep only the report. Public pages can contain personal data (for example a staff name); a report may quote short pieces of page text as evidence.
- Your report link is kept in your own browser (local storage) so you can find it again. It never reaches us except as the key your browser sends to open the report; we keep only its hash, so even we cannot rebuild your link.
- Technical data: our hosting provider processes your IP address briefly to deliver pages and to limit misuse. We do not keep access logs of visitors for this service. Our own service logs hold order IDs and costs, not personal data, and are deleted after one month.
We do not sell data, build profiles, track you across sites, or use your data for advertising. We do not use anything you give us to train AI models.
Who receives data
- Amazon Web Services (hosting, database and signing keys; Mumbai region, with content delivered from AWS locations worldwide).
- Razorpay (payments, India).
- Anthropic, PBC (USA): the public pages of the website being rated are sent to its Claude models to produce the rating. Its commercial terms do not allow it to train its models on this data. No data about you is sent.
- Google Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
- Authorities, only where Indian law requires it (see the Terms on suspected child sexual abuse material).
Some of these providers are outside India. We transfer data abroad only as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 permits.
Labels are public
A label states a website's address and its rating, never personal data. Labels are published at rate.shinifrontiers.com/label/… and, if the site owner adds them, on the site itself, so anyone can read and check them. Checking a label does not tell us who is looking.
How long we keep it
- Order records (website, order and payment IDs, amount, status): 8 years, as Indian accounting and tax law requires.
- Reports and labels: for as long as the order record, so we can answer questions and challenges. A label stops being valid after 90 days. Ask us and we will delete a report earlier unless the law requires us to keep it.
- The daily scan count: 3 days. Service logs: 1 month.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us for a summary of your personal data and how we use it, to correct or erase it, and to nominate someone to act for you; you can also raise a grievance (below). If you are in the EU or UK, you have the rights given by the GDPR, including access, correction, erasure, objection and complaint to your data protection authority. We rely on performing your order, our legal obligations and our legitimate interest in running and protecting the service. Write to contact@shinifrontiers.com; we may ask for your Razorpay payment reference to confirm the order is yours.
Children
The service is for adults (18 and over) and businesses checking websites. It rates content for children's sake but does not collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
Grievance Officer

Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date above, and for significant changes say so on the website check page.
